Kobe in a Football Field!
According to news, the Los Angeles Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant played football in Beijing and if the NBA Season 2011- 2012 will take a long time before it will start maybe he’s going to leave basketball and start a new career in football.
Unlike Lakers teammate Ron Artest, who is considering testing out his skills on a dance floor, Kobe Bryant is taking his soccer talents to Washington, D.C., where he has agreed to play in a celebrity soccer game Sunday.
- On Saturday, Barcelona will face Manchester United in a rematch of the Champions League Final in Washington DC..
- On Sunday, basketball great Kobe Bryant will try for some ‘footie’ magic in the nation’s capital by playing in Mia Hamm’s exhibition match for charity.
After these games will he going to change his basketball shoes into football shoes? Kobe Bryant is one of the best guards in the history of the NBA and he is also one of the highest pointers. Bryant had some offers if he will quit basketball, considers China a more likely option. He has exchanged proposals with Chinese teams, and one source said it’s unlikely Bryant would accept any deal that pays him less than $1.5 million per month. Bryant would be free to rejoin the Lakers as soon as the lockout ends.

- Malik Sealy, 30, Minnesota Timberwolves, car accident (2000)
- Lorenzen Wright, 34, Free Agent, homicide (shot)
Did you notice something? Lorenzen Wright died not because he had an illness or an accident. That’s because he was shot and killed. It’s sad to say that the culprit has not been caught yet. I guess he is still there and waiting for his next victim.
Lorenzen Wright played in basketball in the NBA for 15 years. He started when he was selected in the 1996 NBA Draft (from the University of Memphis) as the seventh overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers. But his NBA career resulted in tragedy when the shooting incident happened.
It started in the early hours of July, when a Germantown dispatcher received a 911 call from Lorenzen Wright’s cell phone. The dispatcher heard a garbled male voice utter an expletive, then at least 10 gunshots.
“Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?” the dispatcher asked.
Then the phone went dead.
The dispatcher called back. No one answered.
And there it was, Wright was shot and killed but the caller never said where Wright’s location is. When the family of Lorenzen Wright heard the news about it they thought that the police have tracked the origin of the call with a common Internet Program. So that they can easily locate where’s the location of Wright and save his life. But the police didn’t locate the call fromm Wright’s call because they don’t have the Internet accessto find the origin its.
Nine days later, Lorenzen Wright was found dead in a wooded area of southeast Memphis thattwo law enforcement sources confirmed. The former basketball star went missing just hours before he was supposed to ride back to his townhouse in Atlanta with a friend and his six children.
The police included Sherra Wright, Lorenzen’s wife, as a suspect. Together with the Memphis Police Department, investigators spent much of the day, searching Sherra Wright’s home for evidence. They could be seen removing several items and, at one point, were in the backyard looking very carefully at Wright’s grill and fire pit.
Neighbors reported a large fire in her backyard after Wright’s disappearance and saidthey thought it was unusual for Wright to light a fire on one of the hottest nights of the year.
So why didn’t the cops have Internet access???? Wright’s family claims that officials have BLOCKED the use of online programs because certain police officers have abused their web access.
Wright’s family is devastated — and wants the city to fork over more than $2 million in damages.
Lorenzen Wright was 34 years old at the time of his death. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
Iverson IN or OUT?
Iverson believes he can still play at the highest level and he is putting all of his energy into achieving that goal. “I just want to do whatever an organization wants me to do. Everybody made a big thing about me not wanting to come off the bench, but I said that at that point because it never happened to me in my life and it was something new to me, and obviously I didn’t know how to handle it. But to be back on the biggest stage is my whole thing and I feel like I have a couple more years left in my career and I want to play” Iverson said.
Allen Iverson was humble when he said those words, when he’s insisting that he’s finally ready to be a role player, should a team take a chance on him again. But let’s hear how CSN Philly roles with their own version: “If defiance helped Iverson achieve what he did in his pro career, humility spills from him now, 15 years after being the No. 1 overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft.”
You think he still can be the Iverson we watched when he was still playing at that time. If so which team he will be in and why? Does he still have the skill and power?
He just said that he will try to do what he has to do to be physically and mentally able to get back on the stage. Looking back, plenty of Iverson’s draft friends are still playing, Marcus Camby, Ray Allen, Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash to name a few.
But because Iverson relied solely in his gift of incredible talent and spent little time putting other facets into his game He finds himself on the outside looking in at a world he probably took for granted. Learning curves But I have doubts. He’s older than before and he’s not as fast as the other players now. But Allen Iverson said he’s really eager to play again in the court with his teammates. Now the question is, will he still be accepted? I don’t know what goes on to their minds, let’s just see what their decision will be.
Andrew Bynum! Double Dribble Violation!
Andrew Bynum has an honorary permanent membership on the NBA’s injured list, so maybe he mistakenly thought that extended to his driving rights. Bynum was recently caught on camera at Bristol Farms Market in Playa del Rey last July 18,2011, parking in not just one (1) but two (2) handicap parking spaces (the lot was WIDE OPEN). Drew loaded groceries into his black convertible BMW according to the news and drove off. Of course LA parking officials are expected to get involved. He needs to pay the parking violation ticket which is a mere $383, I’m sure he can handle it because he is earning $14 million a year.
When the press saw Andrew Bynum they asked him about the alleged incident as he was getting into his car recently but he slammed his car door and drove off without any comment.
As what I read in some blogs and news, they said that the reason why Bynum park in that area because:
- He has Injury on his knees so he need to be considered as physically disabled person
- His salary is reaching $ 14,000,000 a year so it’s just easy for him to pay the $353 for the ticket.
- And I’ve read in some blogs comments that made me laugh that he has a new disability which is a “Moral disability”.
But come to think of it you will be only called handicap or disabled person if you have a:
- Physical disability
- Sensory disability
- Visual impairment
- Hearing impairment
- Olfactory and gustatory impairment
- Somatosensory impairment
- Balance disorder
- Intellectual disability
- Mental health and emotional disabilities
Does he have any of these kind of disabilities? Maybe you will say yes because he has an injured knee but still he can walked alone without helping him and pushed a cart with full of grocery items. Unlike some people who are sitting on a wheelchair or having crutches just for them to stand and walked around and needs somebody just to assist them. For me, I don’t think that he should park at that area because that’s not for an “able” person it’s for the “disabled”.
Goodbye Rambis, Hello Bickerstaff
Ending more than three months of uncertainty and awkwardness surrounding the head coach of the worst team in the NBA last season. The Minnesota Timberwolves fired their head coach Kurt Rambis after they were in the last-place overall that stretched the struggling team’s playoff drought to seven seasons. Rambis, who had two years left on his contract, posted a 32-132 record over two seasons with the Timberwolves, including a league-worst 17-65 mark last season.
During the press conference David Kahn the Timberwolves president of basketball operations said that “It is always hard to make these decisions. It is especially hard when it involves somebody of Kurt’s reputation; Even so, this is the right time for us to make a head coaching change now that we’ve identified our roster and its specific needs.”
Kahn hired Rambis in 2009 to turn around one of the league’s struggling franchises. But the Wolves won just two more games this year than they did in his first season, and Kahn felt compelled to cut ties with the first coach he hand-picked to help him to rebuild the Wolves. Rambis became the ninth coach of the Timberwolves in August 2009 after having been an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers for seven seasons. He asked for a four-year contract to leave his prime job as Phil Jackson’s top assistant with the Lakers. That means the owner of the Timberwolves Glen Taylor will be on the hook for the final two years of Kurt Rambis and his $4 million of that deal while Kahn look for a new coach to work with the youngest team in the NBA. The move could prove even more costly if the lockout wipes games off the schedule next season because the contract between Rambis and the Wolves is not yet done.
And some news that I heard is that they found a coach that will replace Rambis but still they didn’t provide specific information about him. His name is Bernie Bickerstaff- he’s the Portland Trail Blazers assistant Coach. For the moment he is the only known contender for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ coaching vacancy, but a potential Wolves candidate with even more experience when it comes to NBA coaching source.
Dirk Nowitzki? Who is he to be the MVP?
Some people doubts that he doesn’t deserved to be the 2011 NBA finals MVP. They say he don’t have any skill or a qualification that an MVP should have. They are comparing him to some players like Lebron James, Kobe Braynt, Shacquille O’Neal, etc. but the question is, do you know him? Critics have alleged Nowitzki’s defense is a weakness, as he averages just over one block per game and never made an All-Defense Team. However, playing more around the perimeter took him out of position where a typical power forward would be detracts from his overall defensive stats. Despite the claims of lack of defense, he still ranked 8th in active players for defensive win shares, placing him higher than Kobe Bryant, who has made the All-Defensive team 11 times.
Nowitzki is a frontcourt player who mostly plays the power forward position, but has also played center, small forward and point forward throughout his career. He hits almost 88% of his free throws and connects on almost 50% of his field goal attempts in three point’s area. He joined the 2006 NBA All-Star Three-Point Shootout competition. He competes with a well – known players and those players were Ray Allen, Gilbert Arenas, Chauncey Billups and Jason Terry, but he did let himself to be distracted by those things and he turn the table upside down when he won the three point shootout. Some critics said that he’s shooting accuracy combined with his long seven-foot frame and unique shooting mechanics, such as having a release point above his head, makes contesting his jump shots incredibly difficult. Additionally, he can put the ball down and drive with it from the perimeter, like few have been able to do with his size.
Here’s a Video from YouTube of the last 2006 NBA Three point Shootout:

Why I chose to pursue a career in Computer Science?
Are you still using a typewriter in writing your term paper? Technology nowadays is very popular in the world. In every month there’s a new update when it comes to technology. We started from mails now to E-mails using the internet, pager to cell phone and now cell phone can be also used in internet surfing,. Computer can be easily used unlike a typewriter that if you commit mistakes you’ll need to use correction fluid just to erase the error, unlike the computer, you can just press the backspace key and change the error that you committed then that’s it clean not messy no need to use a correction fluid.
Why I chose to pursue a career in Computer Science? Before I chose this career I asked myself why people like to use computers, enjoying in social networking by chatting with each other and they used it to find new friends. I was curious and ask again, how did the makers of computers do that? That makes me think how? Then that’s the time I took a Computer Science course and during my college days I learned that Computer’s is just a machine but aside from those, computers also uses a program to make it functional. I want to be one of the developers of that program or software that makes the computer functional and to become always updated on what is happening in our technologies right now and I don’t want to be left behind when it comes to knowledge about computers that is now mainly used by people. By pursuing this career, I know I can make myself useful when it comes to computer.
Be proud of yourself
Some people call me “Ian” as my nickname, some people call me Christian. But you know my name is not that kind of long it’s just Christian Rey and that’s it, pretty short right? But eventhough my name is short, I’m proud of having this name. I’m a graduate of BS Computer Science in Bicol University Gubat Campus. During my colleges days I become an IT resources person in Tacloban City regarding on how’s the PCOS machine works because I was a PCOS Technician in the first Philippine Automated Election last may 2010 and I also became a Speaker in a seminar in AMA Sorsogon to discussed the Introduction about JAVA programming. I have developed a program which also related in the automated election, it was an Automated Election System for our school and it was used in our school during our Campus Student Council Election or the CSC election.
I love reading books especially Sci-Fi because it gives me some ideas on how to develop some new program or software or anything that is in-lined with my course. I also love watching basketball especially NBA. Every time I was given a task I will make it as good as I can just to satisfy them. I like to manage my time. That’s the type of person I am. Based on my experience in my OJT’s and former job I know that the key to have a successful job is you need to be patient enough to handle some crucial things and you should love your work. For me this is the best trait that you should have because if you love your work you will do anything just to have a good output.
When I graduated college I took the Call Center Training in Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Incorporated (SLTCFI). I learned many things in this training; like how to handle outbound and inbound calls. And right now I am undergoing a training to be a SEO specialist that will help me to be more competitive and to stand up with others. This will serve as one of my experiences in life. . Even you have a short or long name it doesn’t matter as long you will do everything just to achieve your goal and be proud of yourself. Also Remember this “Opportunity comes in the disguise of hard work!”
